Prayer Points for Unity and Harmony in Our Community

Prayers for the month of June (3) people standing holding hands in front of a sunset

Have you noticed that some people don’t mind arguing, and may even welcome a fight? It goes beyond friendly debate, and can turn into fighting just for the sake of drama.

Other people are easily offended when they realize that others might not agree with them on each point of personal preference they have.

Both of these stances can be harmful to unity and harmony in our community. While we may not agree on everything, and must stand up for others when they are in harm’s way, there are many times where our offense and fight is about our preferences.

Whether you are praying for unity in your home, your local church, your city, or your country, pray through these prayer points for unity and harmony in our community.

Prayer Points for Unity and Harmony in Our Community

Ask God to help you be a peacemaker. “If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.” Romans 12:18

Pray that you will not be easily offended. “The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.” Proverbs 19:11

Ask God for unity and harmony in your community. “See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!” Psalm 133:1

Prayers for the month of June (8) psalm 133 1

Pray that you will not let anger or worry cause trouble. “Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret; it leads only to evildoing.” Psalm 37:8

Ask God to help you turn away anger. “Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.” Proverbs 29:8

Prayer for Unity and Harmony in Our Community

Dear God,

Thank You, Lord, for the people in our community. You have brought each of us to the place and point in time where You want us to be, having determined the “boundaries of their dwellings.” (Acts 17:26)

Help us to be peacemakers in our community. May we stand for righteousness in a way that honors You, and not just serves our need to be right. May we show Your good love to others, and not anger.

May our love for others be a witness to our community.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Points for Loving the Unlovable

Prayers for the month of June (4) one person handing another person a paper heart

As a child, you may have picked teams on the playground or in your backyard. You were determined to be on the best team, and you probably wanted to win at all costs.

In everyday life today, we are just as quick to pick sides and to disregard those who are not on our side. This divisiveness has had a negative impact on relationships in families, workplaces, and other settings.

Even though you may not agree with someone, you are not exempt from loving them. Jesus reached out to everyone, even those who did not share His beliefs at the time.

He offered salvation to a convicted thief on the cross who expressed sincere faith in Him. He also pursued Paul, a devout and malicious Pharisee, to have a relationship with Him.

Regardless of whether a person is considered “good” or “bad,” God offers love and eternal life to all who believe in Him (John 3:16). As such, we have no reason to withhold love from others.

These prayer points can aid you in praying for those who you don’t wish to love.

Prayer Points for Loving the Unlovable

Pray for obedience to love one another. “This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.” 1 John 3:23

Ask God to help you to remain in Him and love others as He does.  “But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him: he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked.” 1 John 2:5-6

Pray that God will help you love others. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Prayers for the month of June (9) John 13 34 35

Ask God to help you to be kind and forgiving. “And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Pray to follow God’s example of love. “Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.” 1 John 4:11

Prayer for Loving the Unlovable

Dear God,

We thank You for loving us. We don’t deserve Your love, but You gave it to us anyway.

You know who we struggle to love. Maybe they have hurt us or one of our loved ones. Maybe we find them annoying or inconvenient.

Help us to love them as You would. May we have wisdom in our interactions, and always follow Your leading.

Thank You for Your love that helps me love others!

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Prayer Points for Wisdom for Parents

Prayers for the month of June (5) parents with 2 young children on their shoulders in silhouette in front of a sunset

Being a parent can be harder than anticipated. No matter what the age, there is always something unexpected to be faced with.

Parents who want to raise their children and continue to encourage them in the Lord must start with prayer! God can provide the wisdom that is so desperately sought after.

Pray these prayer points for yourself as a parent, or for other parents you know.

Prayer Points for Wisdom for Parents

Pray for parents to not make it hard to obey. “You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4

Ask God to help parents to be faithful in Christian parenting. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Pray for parents to take refuge in the Lord. “How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.” Psalm 36:7

Prayers for the month of June (10) Psalm 36 7

Ask God to help parents lead children to Him. “Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea.” Matthew 18:5-6

Pray that parents will be faithful in teaching their children God’s Word. “These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Prayer for Wisdom for Parents

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You that we have the ultimate and perfect parent in You! You care for Your children and provide for them. We rejoice that You are our Abba Father.

We pray for parents, whether it is for ourselves or for those we know. May You provide the wisdom that is needed each day. May Your Word be cherished and taught to these children.

Please bless parents with the discernment they need, whether they are parenting a baby or guiding a young adult.

We thank You for the answers to these prayers!

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

You may have started your personal relationship with Jesus this very day, or maybe you have been a Christian for many, many years. Either way, you need to be praying over your relationship with God.

A new Christian might need more time to learn about Christ and who He is; an older Christian could struggle with taking their faith for granted. Prayer reminds us of our place before God and draws us closer to Him.

Ask God to help you trust Him more. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 KJV

Pray that you will turn to God for deliverance. “You are my hiding place. You will preserve me from trouble. You will surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.” Psalm 32:7

Prayers for the month of June (11) Psalm 32 7

Thank God for salvation. “But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Rejoice in our faithful God. “May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

Prayer for Your Relationship with God

Almighty God,

Prayer Points for Trusting God

Prayers for the month of June (7) black and white photo of man reaching out in prayer

Believing in God for your salvation is the first crucial decision you make in trusting God. But it isn’t the only area where you need to trust God.

As our relationship in Him grows, we learn that God wants to trust Him with all the areas of our lives. The various trials in our lives grow our faith and trust in Him.

Cover this need to trust God more by praying through these important Bible verses about trusting God.

Prayer Points for Trusting God

Pray that you will see God is bigger than your circumstances. “Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.” Isaiah 40:28

Ask God to help you trust in His plan. “Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them.” Psalm 139:16

Pray that you will rest in God’s plans for you. “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you,” says the LORD, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 WEBBE

Ask God to help you wait on His timing. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Prayers for the month of June (12) Ecclesiastes 3 1

Thank God for His plan for your salvation. “For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10

Praise God for being trustworthy. “The LORD will also be a high tower for the oppressed;

a high tower in times of trouble. Those who know your name will put their trust in you,

for you, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9-10 WEBBE

Prayer for Trusting God

Dear Lord,

We are so thankful that You are our trustworthy God! We do not hope in vain. We can trust in Your plans for us.

Please help us to rest in You and what You have for us. Give us the faith we need to trust You more.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
