July Prayer for the Will of God
O Lord,
We come to July with an attitude of thankfulness and expectation. We are looking forward to seeing what You will do during this month.
We pray that we would seek Your will as we go through these days and weeks. Help us to follow You faithfully! May we live by the power of the Holy Spirit each day.
Please bless us with good health. May we enjoy the gift of this new day, and may we celebrate every good thing from Your hand!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
5 Prayer Topics for the Month of July
Sometimes we pray for the same prayer needs every day. It’s great to persevere in prayer, and continue to trust God for His answers to those prayers.
But it can also be beneficial to expand your prayer life to other areas. These 5 prayer themes include relevant Scripture in the prayer points for the topics.
These July prayer points can be used for prayer gatherings, such as small groups, prayer meetings, Bible studies, or family devotion time. They can also be used in personal prayer time.

Prayer for Freedom in Christ
I was once told the story about a dog trainer whose dogs were very well trained off leash. She left the house without the dogs, and forgot to close the garage door. When she returned, the dogs were lined up waiting patiently at the edge of the garage. They had the opportunity for freedom, but did not take it.
While those dogs shouldn’t have taken that opportunity, we often stand on the edge, trying to make a decision of whether we have the freedom to do something. Maybe we are hesitant because it truly is wrong, and we should avoid it anyway.
But other times, we don’t exercise the freedom we have in Christ because we are burdened by legalistic tendencies. Sometimes we don’t see our freedom in Christ because we are trying to earn our way to God and keep trying to pay the price of salvation with sacrifice and good works.
And sometimes we don’t find our freedom in Christ because we haven’t known grace in our lives from others, making it harder to understand just how Christ could show that grace to us.
These prayer points for freedom in Christ can help you see how Jesus made it possible for you to live a life of true freedom in Him. If you live in the United States and are having an Independence Day prayer time around the 4th of July, this might be a good option for your Fourth of July prayers.
Prayer Points for Freedom in Christ
Pray that you will live in freedom as the renewed person God has made you. “Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1
Ask God to give you freedom. “Out of my distress, I called on the LORD. The LORD answered me with freedom.” Psalm 118:5 WEBBE
Pray for God’s freedom for yourself and others. “Who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners.” Psalm 146:7 WEBBE
Praise the Lord for the freedom found in a righteous life. “I will walk in liberty, for I have sought your precepts.” Psalm 119:45
Thank Jesus for the freedom found in Him. “If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36
Prayer for Freedom in Christ
O God,
Thank You for paying the price of our salvation! You have purchased our freedom from sin, and we need not live as one oppressed by the burden of our sins.
Help us to live a life that honors You. We love Your Word! Help us also to know Your grace in our lives.
We love You, dear Lord!
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Prayer for Protection for Our Families
I’ve talked with many parents over the years, and one of the most asked prayer requests is to “keep my child safe.” Whether it’s sending your child to school, seeing them navigate a new situation, or dealing with a much larger problem, you want your child to be safe and protected.
We can bring this concern and much more to our Heavenly Father. He will hear our prayers and answer according to His perfect will!
Worrying over the safety of your family will not change things, but prayer can change the circumstances, and will change your heart.
If you want to spend more time praying for your children, ladies can see if a Moms in Prayer group is available nearby.
Additionally, you can learn more about praying for your child, no matter what age, in these books by Sally Burke, president of Moms in Prayer: Start with Praise and Unshaken, or Fern Nichols’ Mom’s Little Book of Powerful Prayers.

Prayer Points for Protection for Our Families
Pray for your family members to stay close to the Lord. “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1 WEBBE
Ask God to draw your family members close to Him. “The LORD’s name is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10 WEBBE
Pray for God to grow their trust in Him. “Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.” Psalm 62:8
Ask God to help them find their refuge in Him. “Oh taste and see that the LORD is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8 WEBBE
Pray that they will take refuge in God, and He will defend them. “But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice. Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you.” Psalm 5:11
Prayer for Protection for Our Families
Dear Lord,
It is so hard to not worry about our families, and want to be with them at all times to protect them! We thank You that You are with them, and that You can protect them.
We pray for protection for our families, that You would bless them with safety today. Help them not to take unnecessary risks or make unwise choices. Thwart anyone who might plan harm for them.
We pray that You would help them to find refuge in You, and trust You more and more each day!
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
Prayer for Thankfulness for God’s love
God’s love for us is surprising, exhilarating, and humbling. We want to love Him perfectly, but end up falling short so often. In God’s grace, though, He is faithful even when we aren’t, and He keeps on loving us.
Realize today how loved you are by God, and pray through these prayer points on God’s love for us.
Prayer Points of Thankfulness for God’s Love
Thank God for loving us. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Be grateful for being part of His family. “And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” Galatians 4:6
Thank God for loving us even before we loved Him. “But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Be grateful for Jesus’ sacrifice for our salvation. “By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9
Be thankful that nothing can separate us from God’s love. “For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
Prayer of Thankfulness for God’s Love
Dear God,
Thank You for Your amazing love. We would not be able to stand without it! Your love gives our lives meaning and purpose.
May we honor You today, and do what we do for the glory of Your name. May we not take Your love for granted. May we share Your love with others.
Help us to remember that nothing can ever separate us from Your love!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Prayer for Happiness and Joy
How many ways and how much do we spend chasing happiness and joy? Whole industries have been built off of offering hope of lasting happiness and joy. While some of these solutions can make us feel good for some time, none of them produce lasting joy.
Lasting happiness and joy is only found in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Surrendering your heart and your life to Him will give you the happiness and joy you seek. And it’s not because your circumstances will necessarily improve, but your heart can be at peace in Him.
Pray through these prayer points for happiness and joy.
Prayer Points for Happiness and Joy

Ask God to give you fullness of joy in His presence. “You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.” Psalm 16:11
Rejoice for the joy God gives you. “For you make him most blessed forever. You make him glad with joy in your presence.” Psalm 21:6
Pray that you will be patient as you wait for joy. “For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5
Ask God to help you take joy in Him. “Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.” Psalm 43:4
Thank God for redeeming you. “My lips shall shout for joy! My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you!” Psalm 71:23
Prayer for Happiness and Joy
Dear Lord,
Thank You that we can find joy and happiness in You! Please forgive us for the many futile ways we’ve chased happiness and joy that were not of You.
We pray, dear Father, that You would help us to seek joy in Your presence. We rejoice in the salvation that makes this possible.
May we enjoy Your happiness and joy today in our lives.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Prayer for Storms in Life
We all face trials in our lives. Some are the result of our own foolishness or sinfulness, but others are challenges the Lord has allowed in our lives to help us to grow and trust in Him.
When we face these storms in life, we need to constantly remind ourselves to stay in the Lord and trust Him to bring us through this according to His will. He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
These prayer points can help give us hope as we face various storms in our lives.
Prayer Points for Storms in Life
Pray to trust God through all circumstances. “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.” Job 13:15 KJV
Thank God for calming storms in your life in the past. “For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves… He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.” Psalm 107:25, 29
Pray that you will run to God when you face trials. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
Ask God to help you rest in Him. “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1
Pray that you will face this trial in the peace of Jesus Christ. “I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Ask God to be able to rejoice in trials. “Beloved, don’t be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you. But because you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice, that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy.” 1 Peter 4:12-13
Pray that you will trust Christ through the storms. “He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39
Prayer for the Storms in Life
Dear Lord,
We don’t want to face hard times or trials in this new month, but we know that we will. We rejoice that they serve a purpose, and that we are not alone in our trials. Thank You for being our everlasting refuge.
May we cling to You throughout the hard times, and the good times, too. We ask that You would help us to rejoice in You and take comfort in You throughout every day of our lives.
May we find our strength in You for these trials and storms in life we face!
In the holy name of Jesus, Amen.
