Do you ever wonder if God sees us and how God sees us? Sometimes we feel alone, and can doubt that God sees us. But be assured, He is the God who sees! We find in Scripture many Bible Verses about how God see us.
The God Who Sees
My friend had been very sick, and sent me a link to “The God Who Sees” video on YouTube. Earlier that day, I had been praying for her, asking God to sustain her and her family during this difficult time. I even tried to write about it, writing the title that “God sees us” that morning. I believe God had His hand in this, reminding me then that He sees me and He sees the friend I had been praying for.
Even when we feel alone, God is there. The Bible addresses this in many ways.
The God who sees me (El Roi)
“The God Who Sees” video refers to the story of Hagar in Genesis 16. She had fled after the unjust treatment of Abram and Sarai. The angel of the Lord spoke to Hagar, telling her to return to Abram and Sarai, but promising to “multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude.” Hagar’s response to this is recorded in Genesis 16:13 ESV.
So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God of seeing,” for she said, “Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.”
“The God of seeing” is translated from the Hebrew “’ēl rŏ’î.” God saw Hagar, even though in the culture of the day, she was not important. She was a servant, her boss was furious at her, and she just wanted to go home. God promised her through this angel that her legacy would be a long-lasting line of offspring. At this point in history, this was considered one of the best promises that could be made!
We are children of God (John 1:12), and He sees us as well and knows us (Psalm 139:1).

God sees us and provides for us in our troubles
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
God is the One who sustains us
“But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.”
God sees even the sparrows – surely He sees you!
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.”
God is faithful to those who love Him
“Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
God is the One Who Sees Us
“She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”
God will sustain you to the end
“So that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Other things are uncertain, but God isn’t
“Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.”
God sees when you are tempted and will provide a way out
“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”
